There is no place of greater importance to keep a survival kit and emergency supplies than in your car. The importance lies within the fact that you are usually located within close proximity of your vehicle at all times. Therefore you can gain immediate access to these most important supplies when you need them the most. Following a catastrophic disaster whether it be an earthquake, terrorist attack, flood, hurricane, tornado, etc. you need to be prepared for the worst when you are traveling about in your car. If and when such a disaster occurs, you will need proper emergency supplies because you may be located far away from your friends, family, and home leaving you to fend for yourself in a time of chaos. And since some of the roads and access to roads may be closed or unsafe to drive, you may be stuck traveling by foot back to a safe location...and it won't just be you. The worst mistake you can make in preparing for an emergency is assume that others will be able to help you. This is simply not true...you must be self-sufficient because emergency personnel will be busy rescuing people who need immediate medical attention.
